Zeke!
This gorgeous young American Staffy mix has so much potential to be the bestest boy he can be! After a somewhat chaotic start to life, we see a sweet-natured, super affectionate, full-body-wiggles, staffy smiley kind of guy :)
If you're looking for a new BFF, he oozes "Bestie" vibes but also needs a bit of help along the way. Young Zeke can sometimes struggle to make dog friends. He gets worried by those over-enthusiastic greeters who charge up into other dogs' faces. Zeke appreciates slower, more controlled introductions to dogs he doesn't know. He lived previously with another dog & got along great but we feel that he hasn't had the opportunity to meet many other dogs along the way. The good news is - he is still very young & can now work on his social skills once he has the safety, security, consistency, predictability & love that being a member of a family brings.
Zeke really enjoys his training sessions & is learning Sit, Down, Shake, Spin & jump on a platform. So grab those tasty treats & get ready to form an unshakeable bond with Zeke through training, learning & having heaps of fun together.
Dogs like Zeke, who have missed out on crucial periods of socialisation just need a bit of extra assistance in learning how the human world works & helping build their resilience by providing guidance & reassurance. This can be done by making positive associations with new experiences for them. Remember, you need to have your dog's back as he will look to you as his place of safety.
Zeke really enjoys heading off for a Sniffari walk to explore the local surroundings & he walks pretty well on his harness. Zeke is the kind of guy who will not thrive just being left in a back yard to entertain himself. Most dogs with this kind of lifestyle will end up displaying undesirable behaviours such as digging, barking, escaping etc.
Zeke would make a terrific family dog, life for him has been pretty unsettled & he deserves the chance to know what it's like being in a stable home with a loving family who will love him as much as he loves them.
